To help increase workplace safety, MEA helped pass the Dangerous Behavior and Prevention and Intervention Law.
Please join Mallory Cook, MEA Director of Training and Early Educator Engagement, and Annie Mansfield, MEA UD 10 UniServ Director, as they present the important training on The Dangerous Behavior and Prevention and Intervention Law.
To help increase workplace and student safety, MEA helped pass the Dangerous Behavior and Prevention and Intervention Law. Among other things, the law
- protects your paycheck and sick time, if a dangerous behavior is substantiated and a staff person is injured
- requires administration to work with the union to develop action plans that keep students and staff safe
After the training, you’ll know:
- what constitutes a dangerous behavior
- what protections are in place and covered in the law
- the protocols the district should have in place
- how your union can ensure administration is held accountable in addressing dangerous behavior
- how to navigate the report process
Dinner and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
Mileage will be reimbursed.
