All educators—bus drivers, secretaries, ed techs, food service workers, custodians, maintenance crew, nurses, classroom teachers and specialists—deserve recognition for the important work they do every day!

Here’s our chance to show our communities what each of us does every day for Maine’s children.  Invite parents into your classroom, shine a light on our ESPs and how they care for and keep our students safe and our schools clean, ask community leaders to ‘spend a day in your shoes’ by shadowing you to see firsthand the great job we do in educating the next generation of engaged citizens in Maine!  And don’t forget our substitute educators—talk about a hard job!  Yet they fill in when needed so that things keep running smoothly.  NEA has lots of resources for you to plan events to celebrate our colleagues and to be visible to the community.  For more information, ideas, and materials, go to: http://www.nea.org/grants/19823.htm  (Be sure you don’t miss the printable ESP coloring book!)
