Sacopee Valley Middle School Ed Tech III Among the Finalists for Award
Students, educators and community members in MSAD 55 will join their peers across the country to celebrate the National Education Association’s (NEA) highest recognition for education support professionals (ESPs): the NEA ESP of the Year.
ESPs are the education technicians who provide extra support for our most vulnerable students. They are the bus drivers who get our students to school safely. They are the custodians who keep our school buildings and grounds clean, the cafeteria workers who ensure our school communities are fed, and so much more. They are essential members of the educational team who work at every level of education—from pre-school to university graduate programs.
Kim Hubbard, an Ed Tech III at Sacopee Valley Middle School, is one of 38 education support professionals nationwide who is a finalist for the distinguished honor.
“Kim is an outstanding educator who is deeply devoted to her students, her school community, and the other educators in her school district. She works tirelessly to advocate for the schools our students deserve and the Maine Education Association is extremely proud of her,” said Grace Leavitt, President of MEA.
The NEA ESP of the Year serves as an ambassador for ESPs across the country, promoting the value of ESP members at local, state and national events. While the award is presented to one outstanding ESP each year, it also acknowledges the contributions that all ESPs make towards ensuring great public schools for every student.
