Please join MEA General Counsel, Ben Grant and UniServ Director, Phyllis Hunter to learn the ins and outs of The Duty of Fair Representation. The Local Association will be faced with many decisions in processing grievances. The bargaining agent has a legal obligation to its bargaining unit members known as “the Duty of Fair Representation” or “DFR,” for short. While this may sound intimidating, be assured that following best practices for processing grievances will keep the Local Association well within the legal requirements of DFR.
