Join us for an opportunity to learn about Maine’s Dangerous Behavior and Prevention Law. This critical law—championed and passed with MEA’s support—enhances workplace safety and provides key protections for educators. It: Safeguards your paycheck and sick leave if a dangerous behavior is substantiated and results in injury Requires administrators to collaborate with the union to develop action plans Aims to prevent future incidents and ensure the safety of both staff and students In this training, you will learn: What qualifies as a “dangerous behavior” under the law The specific protections and rights the law provides The protocols your district should have in place How your union can hold administration accountable How to navigate the reporting process effectively Dinner will be provided, and mileage will be reimbursed! *Registration closes October 28th at 4 p.m.
