Advocacy is the foundation of union activism. Come explore what advocacy is and the many types of advocacy locals engage as you learn the nuts and bolts of grievance handling. Topics include: the role and rights of union “stewards”, Weingarten rights, complaints and investigations, and the grievance process. Participants will leave with the skills to advocate for members to build local union power.
This training is open to ALL association leaders and members interested in becoming an advocate in the future. Your union’s power comes from its members and is directly related to the number of members who are active participants in our union work. Whether you’re a seasoned local leader or new to union advocacy and hoping to learn more, this is the training for you!
