President Biden signed into law the bipartisan Social Security Fairness Act, which repeals the unfair GPO and WEP provisions. This is a huge win for educators and public service workers in Maine.
Repealing these unjust provisions has been a decades-long priority for the Maine Education Association and National Education Association. Our members have worked tirelessly for over 25 years for this historic moment, including the hundreds of you who contacted your representatives in Congress and helped push the Social Security Fairness Act across the finish line.
