2025-26 Session Schedule

MEA-Retired and MEA sponsor retirement sessions for individuals considering retirement this year or within five years. A presenter from the MEABenefits Trust discusses medical plans, reviews paperwork and provides rate information. The MEPERS representative covers information on how to calculate your pension amount and pinpoints when you can retire, along with other details pertinent to making any decisions. Horace Mann agents summarize GPO and WEP and the impact on pensions. “Getting Ready to Retire” documents are reviewed by members of the MEA-Retired Pre-retirement Committee who also host the Zoom meetings.

All meetings are held through Zoom, beginning at 5:00 P.M. until 6:15 P.M. on two consecutive evenings. Questions are posed in the chat room and submitted to each presenter for a response during each presentation. Generic questions are encouraged and individual situations can be addressed through email or phone calls to the respective presenters.

You’ll receive an email in advance to register for the sessions. Materials used in each presentation and the Zoom link are sent to MEA members in advance. Members should be prepared to attend both evening sessions.
