MEA proudly hosted a pinning ceremony last Thursday to honor our newly certified and recertified National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs). National Board Certification is highly respected in education, and MEA supports members with free candidate workshops.

Keynote Speaker Susan O’Brien (NBCT) shared her journey, initially pursuing certification as a resume builder but finding it transformed her teaching. She became more reflective and intentional, excited to connect with students and foster their leadership in learning.

We thank facilitators Heidi Goodwin (NBCT) and Jennifer Dorman (NBCT), and speakers Associate Commissioner of Education Chelsea Fortin, MEA President Jesse Hargrove, and Susan O’Brien.
