On Monday, March 4, the Education Committte in Augusta will hear testimony on two proposals that will increase the minimum teacher salary in Maine.
The minimum teacher salary is currently $30,000. One of the bills will increase the salary to $40,000 and the other to a minimum of $50,000.
Educators across Maine are speaking out on the issue, sharing their stories about why this increase is crucial not only for their livelihoods but necessary if the State wants to attract and retain quality teachers for our students.
